Help Wanted - Sanitary Board Attorney

The City of Moundsville Sanitary and Stormwater Boards is accepting qualifications for the position of Board Attorney. Attorneys currently licensed to practice law in West Virginia, or law firms including such attorneys, may respond. The Moundsville Sanitary Board reserves the right to reject any and all proposals received in response to this RFQ. It is expected that the contract will be a three-year renewable contract.
The attorney shall be readily available to perform the following legal services, as requested by the Superintendent and/or the Board of Directors:
· Provide general legal advice, as requested.
· Review drafts of contracts and leases.
· Advise on individual labor and employment matters.
· Review and advise on personnel, fiscal and other policies, as well as general policies and procedures.
· Advise on human resources policies and/or procedures.
· Advise on responses to subpoenas, court orders, and requests for information from third parties.
· Defend lawsuits, administrative claims, or other legal claims.
· Conduct litigation as necessary.
· Any other legal-related matters.
· Attend one monthly evening meeting, and other special meetings, as needed.
Submittal shall include a description of the qualifications of the attorney(s) to be assigned to the representation. Descriptions should include basic professional and educational background of assigned attorney. The Board has an established fee that is paid for these services.
