It is the goal of the City of Moundsville Parks and Recreation Department to provide safe and interactive opportunities for people of all ages to enjoy recreational activities and events with friends and family.

  • The Parks and Recreation Department employs 2 full-time employees, with a goal of 18 part-time employees including 8 lifeguards, 5 desk attendants, and 5 maintenance personnel depending on the time of year.
  • The Parks and Recreation Department oversees the operation of 5 parks located in the city of Moundsville including the East End Complex, Riverfront Park, Park View Playground, and boy’s and girl’s Valley Fork Sports Parks. The Department is also responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Four Seasons Swimming Pool and the Sam Shaw Walking Trail.
  • The Parks and Recreation Department supports many recreational organizations including boys’ baseball, girls’ softball, men’s, women’s, and co-ed summer and fall softball leagues, Marshall County Panther Football Association, Marshall County Flag Football Association, and Marshall County Soccer Association.
  • The Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for operating and maintaining the Riverfront Shelter and East End shelter.
  • The Parks and Recreation Department oversees the operation and maintenance of the Riverfront RV Rental Park.
  • The Parks and Recreation Department also sponsors different Summer Sports Camps.  Contact The pool at 304-845-7733 for specific information.
  • The Four Seasons Pool provides many opportunities for citizens to enjoy a year-round swimming facility. We have water aerobics, kayak club, and are home to the Marshall County and JMHS Swim Teams. Parties can be scheduled on Fridays and Saturdays from 6:00-8:00 pm, and 12:00-2:00, 3:00-5:00, and 6:00-8:00 pm on Sundays. A $75 deposit is required upon scheduling.   • The East End Shelter is also available to rent for $25 and is available any day from 12:00-4:00 or 5:00-9:00 pm.
  • The Riverfront is available to rent any day of the week with a $50 deposit. Please call the pool at 304-845-7733 for date availability and other details before returning the contract to 4 Seasons Pool.  Click here to view contract
  • The Moundsville Parks & Recreation Department oversees the maintenance of all public parks in our city. It is also responsible for developing and implementing new parks.

Field Leasing Requirements

  1. The field schedule will be available on the City of Moundsville website and Facebook page. Any open slots can be requested by reservation. Fields available for lease are located at the East End Park only, Valley Fork Baseball/Softball fields are not available to lease on an individual basis.
  2. Requests for reservations will be accepted only by contacting the Four Seasons Pool at 304-845-7733. Patrons may request up to two 1 ½ hour time slots per week (Monday to Sunday).
  3. To reserve a field, you are required to submit information, show proof of insurance, sign a lease agreement, and all coaches/helpers must pass a background check. The decision on any background checks will be made by the city and is final. The application fee is $50.00 per calendar year.
  4. The field lessee is responsible for lining and clean-up of the fields and surrounding areas. The City of Moundsville reserves the right to revoke or cancel future reservations if above conditions are not met.

Field rental fees for tournaments would apply as follows:

  • $100.00 for field rental per day. 50% discount may apply for non-profit charity events.
  • Trail use for color runs etc., would be free of charge with City of Moundsville advanced approval.
  • Tournaments such as kickball, wiffleball, tennis ball would fall under the field rental criteria.
  • Court rentals such as basketball, pickleball, volleyball tournaments would be $50.00 with the 50% non-profit charity event discount available.
  • All tournaments or use of trails require proof of insurance and a completed lease form

Note:   The City of Moundsville reserves the right to change/alter any or all of these requirements at any time without approval.

 

 

 

The City has an RV Park located at our Riverfront Park, with 30 full hook-up sites.
