DRINKING WATER PROBLEM CORRECTED

Customers of Moundsville Water Board were notified on 03/11/22 of a problem with our drinking water

and were advised to boil all water used for drinking/other activities for 48 hours. We are pleased to

report that the problem has been corrected and it is no longer necessary to boil all water used for

drinking/other activities for 48 hours.   We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your

patience during this issue.

The areas that are affected are as follows:

lower portion of Tenth Street, Lockwood Avenue from 10th Street to 14th Street, and Thompson Avenue from 10th Street to 11th Street in Moundsville, West Virginia

Water service had to be shut off to repair a break in the 8 inch main water line at the corner of 10th Street and Lockwood Avenue. The Moundsville Water Department Maintenance Crew made the necessary repair and water service was restored as soon as the repair was completed. The area affected was 10th Street from Lockwood Avenue toward the river, Lockwood Avenue from 10th Street to 14th Street, and Thompson Avenue from 10th Street to 11th Street. There are 8 residential customers and 1 auto mechanics garage affected by the shut off and boil order. The customers affected were notified of the shut off and of the boil order in person, with door tags, and through social media. A 48 hour boil order was in place upon the restoration of services. We received word from the lab in Wheeling that the Coliform/Bacti sample has passed. The boil order is LIFTED. Customers will be notified of the Lift in person, by door tags, and through social media.
