Boil Order Lifted

Posted 05/21/24

Please be advised that the 48 hour boil order for residents of 8th Street from Ash Avenue to Henrietta Avenue has been Lifted.

The water service was shut off on Monday, May 20th, 2024 from 8:00am to 3:00pm so a contractor could complete a tie-in to the main waterline on 8th Street and Henrietta Avenue. The shut off affected the customers on Eighth Street who reside between Ash Avenue and Henrietta Avenue.

The shut-off was necessary to connect the new waterline into the existing waterline. We realize the shut-off was an inconvenience to the customers in that area, but the new waterline will offer more stable service with better fire protection for the residents of that area.

For our customers’ protection, a 48 hour boil order was put in place following the restoration of water service until sample results were received from the lab in Wheeling.

We just received word that the sample cleared and
the Boil Order is lifted.

We do this to ensure that our customers are receiving the safest and best quality of water available.

Sincerely,
The Moundsville Water Board
