It is the mission of the City of Moundsville Arts & Culture Commission to promote, develop, and inspire creative, artistic, and cultural initiatives that may stimulate economic development and increase the visibility and vibrancy of the arts community in Moundsville, West Virginia.

Goals of the Commission:

  • To promote existing arts initiatives created and executed by community organizations and individuals.
  • To develop and make accessible new creative opportunities for area residents.
  • To inspire the community through artistic and cultural activities and media.
  • To offer assistance to local artists in the way of promotion, visibility, or opportunity.
  • To expand the reach of the local arts community in a way that may foster awareness and economic growth from areas outside the city.

The Arts & Culture Commission hosts numerous events throughout the year, including:

  • Pumpkin Painting
    • Over five hundred pumpkins were handed out at the last event, which includes paint and snacks.
  • Appalachian Dinner
    • This dinner showcases Appalachin foods and heritage, and is currently the only event that there is an addmission charge.
  • MACC Educational Events
